This will be my last post.  I'm done.  I'm walking away.  I wish you well. I'm going to disappear into the shadows... never to be seen or heard from again.  Well... for a month or two, that is. I'm taking a break.  Traveling a bit.  Getting in touch with my inner Bieber.  If you want this blog to come back, post a comment.  Otherwise... don't know.  We'll see.  I'll still post to Twitter here and there.  Not sure if I'll continue to update The Infinite Ache or the other Tumblr sites. Maybe.  I will, however, be updating Facebook with content I would have posted elsewhere.

I posted this to The Infinite Ache last week, but man I love these guys.  Classy and artistic.

They were good friends, but long before that... Johnny was a huge Bruce fan.  Here are a few Bruce covers along with Bruce, at a Cash tribute concert, returning the praise.  Two giants.

It pains me to admit this, but... I dig a lot of the tracks off the new Rihanna album.  "We Found Love" is the big radio hit at the moment (I like the remix), but I like this one best.  Moving on... I guess Yelawolf is Eminem's protege.  It's a good song.  The last one is by Tuscan-born Manuel de la Mare.  Interesting mix of Italian and House. Ok, what else did I buy this week? Hmm. Well... "Are You Hiding Out in Hell?" by the Loved Ones is pretty cool.  Pretty sure this is pride parade territory, but... whatever.  I really liked "Carry On Cruising" and "Carry On Cowboy" by Motorcitysoul.  Good stuff.  Kurt Vile turned in a great cover of Springsteen's "Downbound Train" (I guess it came out a few weeks ago, but remember... these are new to me) and The Antlers turned in a chill cover of "VCR" by The XX.  Hope you find a few songs you like.

Also... I can't mention new music without pointing out that Bob Seger's "Ultimate Hits" are FINALLY available in iTunes.  "Yeah, but... I don't like 'Classic Rock', Buddha", you say.  Fuck that.  Are you kidding me?  Bob Seger wrote some killer songs.  Man... as much as I love Bruce, listen.  I've dropped more quarters on Seger songs in bars over the years than any other band or artist... especially on "Mainstreet."  Come back, baby.  Here are a few to sample/buy:

I saw this awhile back and held off on posting.  It's erotic, but... definitely odd.  

Where the fuck has this show been?  Granted... I don't watch much TV, but I can't believe I'd never even heard of it.  Anyway... caught it on TV and I'm now a fan.  These kids are amazing. It's basically a talent show featuring some of the best a cappella groups in the country.  I love how they reimagine old songs.  No bands.  No lip-synching.  Just talent... and lots of it.

The best new songs I purchased this week.  Ok... in addition to the tracks above, I also loved the following: "Resolutions" by Armosh, "If You Want Me" by Cisco Cisco & Jay Shepheard, "Ice" by Volta Cab & Cisco Cisco, "Milk" (Plaintext Kitsune Mix) by Theme Park, "Why Don't We" by Mint Julep, "Resistance Alpha" by Kap Bambino, and several songs ("Comin' Down", "Pago Pago", and "Comin' Closer") off the new CD by Korallreven.  I also bought Goldmund's new CD, All Will Prosper.  It's a collection of Civil War-era folk songs that will have you feeling like you've just stepped back in time.  Finally... here's a fun song off the new Kitsuné Maison compilation CD.

I, um... I shot this last night when I was flying around the world, saving lives.  For reals.

I was going to post this on The Infinite Ache, but... it's a little strange.  It's part Victoria's Secret ad, part Black Swan, and part James Bond.  A nude art film that confuses as much as it arouses.

Cool short that was used to showcase the Canon C300.  Love the plot twist at the end.

I buy a lot of new music, but you know what... I rarely buy full albums.  Most CD's usually have one or two really good songs, if that.  Every now and then, though, I come across a CD that blows me away... and I end up purchasing the whole thing.  Such is the case with Prisoner by The Jezabels.  Huge eargasm.  In addition to "Rosebud", above, check out "City Girl", "Catch Me", "Endless Summer", and "Austerlitz."  "The Fighter" is sure to be featured in a thousand TV shows and Meshell's new track, "Don't Take My Kindness for Weakness", is just gorgeous (also check out "Chances").  Other songs I liked... "Never Never Land" by Bob Hillary & The Massive Mellow, "La Otra Noche" by Fidel, and the Yeasayer remix of Death Cab's "Codes and Keys."

There was another odd one I liked... "Benny's Memory Palace" by The Sandwitches.
