What I see is unconditional love, it's sad in a way, but ultimately beautiful... she can't give him what she knows he needs, so, she wants him to have it anyway, and more than that she'll go with him to show her ''approval''..... and they, the relationship and them as individuals, are changed by it forever, the rain washes away, so, we don't know what it's washed away or what will be there when it stops...
Great observation. I wasn't sure if she was dead and that he was just trying to cope without her or if, as you say, she was giving him what she couldn't. All I know is that I would be PISSED if it rained inside my house.
