My Father's House

One of the great songs off the Nebraska album.  This and "Mansion on the Hill" used to haunt me.  It's amazing how influential that album was... especially since it was just a demo tape.

Lovely. Dang I wish I was Michelle Obama, sitting between those two hotties!!! Jealous. I should be First Lady. Oh well at least I am Queen.

I love her reaction. It's like ... "wow... you wrote that?" Again... most people only know a small fraction of his catalog. They think he's the "Born in the USA" album and maybe "Born to Run", but they've never heard the truly great stuff. The early epics ... like "New York City Serenade" and "Incident on 57th Street." Haunting tracks like "Stolen Car" and "Mansion on the Hill." Outtakes like "The Fever" or stories so rich, like "Highway Patrolman", that movies were based on them. "They've never heard the beautiful ballads like "Leah" or seen live footage of him circa 1975-1980 - concert performances that left even his peers in awe. It's a shame, really. They have no idea what they're missing. So many stunning songs.

People always ask me... "why Springsteen?" Because he's that fucking good.

Thanks Queen TBK!
