PC to Mac: Running Windows
I'm going to post some tutorials this week for folks that just bought their first Mac and are now completely confused. I had the same experience. It took me 3-4 months before it all made sense; since then, I've hated using PC's. I'm going to start out, though, by explaining that you don't have to abandon Windows entirely. Macs make it easy.
First... a little background. I have a 24" iMac that I bought in 2007. I have the wireless keyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad. At work... I use an HP EliteBook that runs Windows 7 with a docking station and dual monitors. Windows 7 is ok, but it's no OS X.

Very nice. I like this.
iMACs are cool - I like the bright colors. I like my MacBook Pro more and more as I get used to it. Your tutorials help. The only thing I don't like about Mac is that I buy a product and two weeks or a month later, they release a better version of that product or a more attractive new product. I just got an e-mail for the MacBook Air. I won't be quitting my job any time soon ;)
I know how you feel. It can be very frustrating - especially with Apple. I take it as a good thing, though. I like that they keep innovating and bringing out something new. I've learned my lesson, though, in being an early adopter. That's why I held off on getting the iPad. The key is in waiting until you're willing to pay for a version that has pretty much everything you want. Realize they may come out with a better one 12 months from then, but is it "enough" right now? If not, hold off. If you really want it, get it.
