Now this is the kind of app I can get behind. None of this "I'm at Claim Jumper for no good reason" silliness. It works the same way that a Foursquare works; when you're out and about (a store, restaurant, etc.), you just "check in" and it alerts everyone as to where you're at... with one bonus: it earns you "karma points." Huh? Let me explain. Let's say you want to go shopping. You're at Nordstrom. You launch the iPhone app (also on Android) and check in. You earn points each time you do so. Earn enough and you can "donate" to any charity of your choosing. It then updates your stream and tells everyone how wonderful you are for having given. "Wait", you say. "I don't have the kind of money to keep donating day after day to causes." No. You won't. It's not your money. Companies like Citi and Kraft are jumping onboard. They're the ones donating the cash. They get free publicity from it and you get good, well... karma. In other words... when you're out, "check in" and earn points. The more points, the more karma. The more karma... the bigger the donations. You can now contribute to the Haiti relief fund, as well. This isn't some stupid fart app, guys. This is a terrific idea.
Get it and... do some good.
