Hungarian Goulash
One of my favorite recipes (and super easy to make). In honor of my friend, Paprika.
First off... get your crockpot out.
- 1lb beef sirloin stew meat
- 1 cup bottled water
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbls worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbl brown sugar
- 2 tsps paprika
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- garlic salt/pepper
- Some chopped onions (don't overdo it)
- Egg noodles
Total Cooking Time: 9 Hours
Put the stew meat in the crockpot. In a mixing bowl, whisk the ingredients together and pour over the meat. Stir it around a bit (I usually make sure the meat is completely submerged so that it gets all happy). Put the lid on and turn to Low. At the end of the day... stir it a bit, cover and then leave it in for another couple hours. When you're ready to eat, mix some flour/water and pour into the sauce to thicken. Stir and put the lid back on. Cook the egg noodles and drain (I'm probably weird, but... I use the rest of the bottled water to rinse the noodles; I despise the taste of tap water). Serve over the noodles when done. It's damn tasty.
